On December 16th we hosted our first in-person Keystroke Christmas Party in four years. From a staffing perspective, 2023 represented relative stability as we had no departures, and one return (Jason Chin).
For those that remain, the KOPA's (the Keystroke Orange Peel Awards) are awarded to seven team members who have distinguished themselves in their respective departments with their superlative efforts. For the most part, the team selected this year's winners in a secret ballot.
Due to some errant shipments from our award company, we had double the awards as normal since they sent not one, but two shipments of trophies with our logo printed backward (the leaf was pointing right). As such, we added some new categories this year and handed out double the number of awards with trophies we'll call "collectors editions".
The following represents the 2023 roster of KOPA Winners (each won $400):
- Top Developer: Ahsan Khalid
- Top Admin: James Paulus (repeat winner)
- Top Salesperson: Victor Krahn (repeat winner)
- Eager Beaver: Shannon Hawthorne (repeat winner)
- Top Support: Albert Mitchell
- Top KPP: Steve and Jean McCandlish (repeat winners)
- MVP: Michael Kadlub (repeat winner)
The extended award winners, each of whom got $200 prize, were as follows:
- Customer Service: Karthik M
- Dynamic Duo: Carlos & Ione Silva
- Inspiration award: JiaKai Zhang
- Best Teammate: Carlos Silva
- Comeback Player: Dhia Saidi
- Most determined: Silvia Wu
- Biggest loser: Duane Anderson (he lost 130lbs)
