As previously announced, the third-party technology powering Act! Connect Link (also known as Ground-to-Cloud) has now been permanently discontinued.
What This Means for You:
If you're an Act! Premium Desktop user who relied on ACL for Web API features—such as Act! Marketing Automation, Act! Companion, or Zapier integrations—you’ll need to choose a new path to continue using these services. Your options are:
1. Migrate to Act! Advantage
Recommended for Most Users – We Handle Everything
Switching to Act! Advantage means we manage the hosting and Web API setup for you. This ensures a secure, seamless connection to Act! Marketing Automation, mobile access, and more. Benefits include:
- Cloud and desktop access
- Exclusive features and integrations
- Click-to-dial functionality
- Automatic updates and nightly backups
2. Stay on Act! Premium Desktop with an External Hosting Provider
Outsource Hosting – Alternative Option
If you prefer not to migrate or self-host, a third-party provider can host Act! and the Web API for you. Contact Keystroke at 1-800-857-0558 to explore this option.
3. Stay on Act! Premium Desktop and Self-Host the Web API
Advanced Option – Requires IT Expertise
You can self-host the Act! Web API using Act! Premium (access via web) on your own server. This option requires specific infrastructure and technical know-how and is not recommended for most users.
Note: The discontinuation of Act! Connect Link does not affect the core functionality of Act! Premium Desktop.
