In the last week, Keystroke submitted custom table build 1.60 to Act! for QA testing in Act! Premium Cloud. This update is the biggest feature enhancement for this product in years, and virtually closes the feature gap between Web and Windows for custom tables.
When approved, Act! Premium Cloud for Web will include the following feature improvements:
- Add "summary" features for columns in web: this will allow web users to display summary calculations at the bottom of each numeric data column (see illustration to the right), allowing them to see enjoy true spreadsheet functionality with SUMs, Averages, Minimums & Maximums, etc. (Web)
- Multi-select custom entities on web: previously the web only supported single-selection of custom table entities, but now multi-select will be supported, as illustrated above (Web)
- Added a 'Go To' section in the context menu when right-clicking one or more records in list view, as illustrated above (Web)
- Added 'Edit' section in the context menu when right-clicking one or more records in list view (Web)
- Added 'Reassign Linked Records' section in the context menu when right-clicking one or more records in list view, as illustrated above (Web)
- Moved Advanced Query editor to the main 'Custom Tables' menu, as illustrated to the right (Web & Windows)
- More Edit tree functions. Nested beneath the Edit tree menu in custom tables for Windows included many features previously unavailable in the Web. This new build will now include the following features (Web).
- Duplicate: duplicate a custom table entry
- Replace Field Values: select multiple custom table entries and replace a field value in them
- Copy Field values: copy values from one field to another in a selection of custom entities
- Swap field values: swap values from one field to another in a selection of custom entities
- Append field values: add an addendum to a field for a selection of custom entities
By our assessment, the only remaining Windows-exclusive features in custom tables are Charts & Grapghs reporting, which was only added last fall. As for expected delivery date, we were advised the QA process on this build started last Thursday, meaning if approved, these changes will likely be added to Act! Premium Cloud in middle to late April.
