We are thrilled to announce that starting with version 9 in the new year, our beloved custom table add-on, Keystroke Designer, will be transitioning to a subscription-based licensing model. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the product with new features and improved compatibility, ensuring that past Designer customers continue to enjoy the product they love.

Last Chance for Perpetual Licenses

So, through January and February, we will offer all past Designer customers the last chance to buy or upgrade to Designer v8 (the last perpetual version), or top up their current legacy licensing (v6-7).
However, starting March 1st, no new license keys will be issued for versions 6-8, and top-up licensing will only be available to v8 customers through 2025. Designer v9's subscription price will be only $74.95 per year (per activation) and will remain exclusively a desktop product (no web support).

Why the Change?

Moving to a subscription model allows us to continue investing in Keystroke Designer. This means more frequent updates, cutting-edge features, and better overall performance. Version 9 is a perfect example of that commitment, as an extensive rewrite of the program has dramatically improved list and sort performance while adding many new features like the ones displayed below. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible tool for your custom table needs, and this transition will help us achieve that.

Purchase Eligibility

Another change, effective January 6th, 2025, is that Keystroke Designer sales will be limited to past customers only. It may seem contradictory to invest more in a product, while reducing purchase eligibility, but it is consistent with our over-arching priority in promoting Act! Premium Cloud. As much as Designer has a rich 15-year history within the Act! community, the future of Act! CRM lies with the development and promotion of APC, and Designer has no server and web support in that platform. Moreover, Tables4act remains the custom table product of choice for Act! Premium and Premium Cloud subscribers.

What Stays the Same?

Designer will remain exclusively a desktop product and be licensed by activation, ensuring that you can continue to work in the environment you are familiar with. It will also continue to support the VB scripting you've built over the years. We are committed to maintaining the high standards of quality and reliability that you have come to expect from Keystroke Designer.
