What is Act!?

What is a contact and customer manager?

A contact and customer manager allows you to manage all tasks and information related to developing and maintaining relationships with the people, groups, and companies with whom you do business. Contact and customer management software provides you with a consolidated view of your contact information so you don’t have to jump from one application to another to complete a task, plan your day, or execute your sales strategies. 



Who typically uses Act!?
Because Act! can be used by anyone with contacts or customers, Act! users include individuals, small businesses, and corporate sales teams looking to enhance the effectiveness of their sales activities and gain an understanding of their customers and their business. We've also deployed Act! within the public sector, as well. Act! can be used by anyone who has to be efficient, organized, productive, and accountable.
Does it cost a lot?
Compared to what? Missing business opportunities? Losing customers due to disorganization? Not marketing your products or services in a timely manner because your data is scattered and unreliable? Calculate the cost of not having a centralized, secure, reliable, and easy to use CRM for your business and I think you'll discover ACT! costs very little.
What are the differences between Act! and Act! Premium Solutions?
ACT! is designed for individuals, sales professionals and sales teams who share data. ACT! Premium Solutions are for sales teams, small businesses, and corporate workgroups who require greater scalability and data sharing, more flexible deployment options, advanced workgroup functionality, and additional administration and security features.
What are the differences between the SQL Express Edition and the SQL Server Edition?
Both editions offer the same great feature set to accommodate your workgroup or team. The key difference lies with the database engine and scalability. The SQL Express Edition ships with Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008R2 Express Edition, and the SQL Server Edition ships with both SQL Server 2008R2 Express & Server 2008R2 Standard Editions.
With a different database engine comes a different recommendation for scalability or networked user counts.
Do you have a hosted solution?
Keystroke offers several options for hosted solutions, that will allow you to sync your data, view your data through a browser, a combination of both, and finally the new HTML5 support for Tablets and PDA's. Keystroke would be responsible for enforcing licensing, as being hosted does not reduce the need for license compliance.
Do you have a version that works with Apple® Macinstosh®?
Yes and No. 
You cannot install ACT!, which is a Windows application, into an Apple Macintosh operating system. You can, however, install ACT! on a MAC computer that feature a dual boot system that can run ACT! on the Windows OS, provided the PC and the OS meets listed minimum system requirements. Will it work on an iPad or Android Tablet?
Again, yes and no. Notwithstanding the unreleased Windows 8, Tablet Operating systems at this point in time do not support the installation of Windows based applications. Data can be viewed through a browser using Act! Premium Mobile, which uses Act! for Web to publish the data in an HTML compatible format.
Will Act! work on a 64-bit Operating System?
Yes, Act! is compatible with the 64-bit versions of the following operating systems: Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008. However, the ACT! program's performance and functionalities are not designed to take advantage of the 64-bit architecture. SQL, on the other hand, can be configured to optimize the 64-bit operating system.
Windows XP (64-bit) and other 64-bit operating systems not listed above are currently not supported.

What is the Act! Software Support Policy?
As a general policy ACT! support is limited to the current version and the two prior (i.e. current support v16, v15 & v14). Please see our obsolescence policy for further details.
What is Product Activation and how does it work?
Act! Product Activation is a technology designed to protect you from purchasing pirated software. Act! Product Activation is a quick and easy process and is part of the general process of product registration. You will be prompted to register when you first launch the product. Follow the wizard to submit your registration information and serial number via Internet, phone or e-mail activation methods. If you do not register and activate, the product will run in trial mode until you do, for up to 30 days. After that time, the product will not run unless you register and activate.
What is the return policy for Act! software?
You may return your copy of ACT! for any reason within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
